Located in Kitchener, ON, Golden Hearth Bakery makes everything from scratch including their croissants. They use only the finest quality local and organic ingredients and do not use preservatives or artificial ingredients. They bake the old fashioned way – with butter, fresh milled flour, farm eggs and cane sugar. Many of the breads are naturally leavened and are dependent on a rye based starter that was developed from scratch. The bread process takes over 24 hours from start to finish. They believe in supporting local farmers and the local food system and source their ingredients locally with a focus on organic food.
