Specialty Produce describes flame grapes as a seedless variety with a noticeably sweet flavor that, when dried, result in plump, rich raisins. International food ingredient company, Khoshbin Group, says flame raisins, aka red raisins, are similar in taste and texture to more common black raisins which are produced from Thompson seedless grapes.
