This year's first Farm Tour at Pfenning's Organic Vegetables has just been announced! Tour will be during the Local Food Week on Saturday, June 8th, 1-3 pm. Click here to register!

FRUIT NEWS:
- Worth mentioning are the Blueberries that came in today. They are super quality and $4.00 per 170g (1 pt).
- Organic Green Grapes from Mexico are finally here. They are Perlett Grapes. The flesh is firm, crisp, and juicy. They are seedless.
- We are selling the Kiwis from Italy at 3 for $1.50 - or 60 cents each.
- Yes, you can eat a Kiwi just like a 'soft-boiled egg' right from your hand. Cut it in half and spoon it out of its shell.
Veggie NEWS:
Despite the wet weather, planting continues, as possible. Upcoming LOCAL GREENS are a given!
- Still no organic Broccoli available from both of our wholesalers!
- Cauliflower is available for now $5.75/ head - and they are nice, big heads.
- Local Asparagus bunches are the choice of local produce right now. They are coming from Chatham, ON - $7.95/lb.
- Fresh Dill Bunches are still available (not local just yet). So deliciously fragrant! Try egg salad with fresh dill, or potato salad with fresh dill. So many options...…!
- We lowered the price on the 2lb and 5lb Carrot bags. $3.00 for the 2lb and $6.75 for the 5lb. To all you "carrot eaters," we hope you will enjoy the savings.
Chicken News:
- On June 26th we will receive our first fresh WHOLE CHICKENS for the year. They are $5.25/lb and come from our usual farmer not far from here. They are raised like a chicken should be raised: lots of space to roam, green grass to pick and sunshine on their back.

- 1kg organic Chicken Wings for $10.00/bag (dated May 27th)
- 1kg organic boneless Chicken Breast (extra lean) for $25.00 (dated June 27th)
We - Wolfgang and Almut - went to visit Fenwood Farms in Ancaster for their 'open house.' We saw how they raise their certified organic chickens on a large scale. It was an eye opener for us to see the dedication, care and quality they put into their farming efforts to produce the highest possible standard for the consumer. For example: the chickens are being fed probiotics in their feed to keep them healthy, they have access to the outdoors and grass pasture for the duration of their life.
