Produce NEWS:

Alright, the field harvest is officially done! The last Carrots were brought in on Monday evening. Storage facilities at the Pfenning's Farm are bursting, so I am told. Looks like we'll make it through the winter!

- We have Fuji and Gold Delicious Apples from B.C. in the Store. 

- 3lb Bosc Pears from B.C. are a new pear for us. They are $4.50/3lb bag. 
 

Bosc pears are grown primarily in the Pacific Northwest states of Oregon/Washington or B.C. They have brownish skin and a somewhat crunchy but tender flesh that has a sweet-spicy flavor. You can enjoy them raw or use them in baking, broiling or poaching.

- Some Blueberries from Argentina arrived today. $4.95/clam shell.

- Cantaloupe Melons  ($4.75 ea) and Mini Watermelons ($3.50 ea) are making the Fruit Department more interesting this week.

- We have some good news: All the 5lb bags of Yellow, Red and Russet Potatoes came down to $5.00 each.

- 2lb Blue Potatoes are the treat of this week. The blue or purple color does not impart an unexpected flavor. Typically, the taste of blue potatoes has been described as rich and nutty, similar to the yellow flesh potato.

With the white and cold weather out there, I am thinking about nothing else but compfy soups and stews.

You can use all the winter vegetables such as: Carrots, Rutabaga, Root Parsley, Potatoes, Cabbage and Squash. Add some Chicken, Salmon or a Sausage on the side and my family is purring.

JUST CAME IN: 1 kg bags of Yorkshire Valley Chicken Sides, $9.95/kg = 2.2 lbs!

We did get Organic L'Ancetre Cheese into our Outlet Section today. Check it out.

If you want to know more, just give us a call and I will walk you through the varieties, We do not put them online due to their short stay in our coolers. That is due to our low OUTET prices.
