Meat Sale of the week:

- Don't forget to consider stocking your freezer with clean LOCAL meat. The CHICKEN List is out! Two dates coming up: Sept 10th and October 25th. Both dates will allow you to buy fresh Whole Chickens for $5.00/lb. But your name needs to be on our Chicken List.

The Chickens are fed organic feed and have been raised with real sunshine and outdoor access, roaming in the grass and picking the bugs and worms. Just the way it should be for a chicken's life.  

- Turkeys for Thanksgiving. If you need one for your feast, let us know by early September. I am mentioning this a little louder now because time flies.

- Make sure to check out our Bargain Corner! Lots of very interesting bargains there this week.

- SPECIAL ATTENTION to the ongoing Cheese Sale!

• Cheddar mild 200g for $5.00 each

• Parmesan grated 125g $4.50 bag

• Mozzarella 15% 325g $5.95 each
   

Produce 'Picks' of the week:

• Pick of the week are our GREEN BEANS. Absolutly beautiful and only $2.25/lb. Best Beans we had all summer.

• All the Squash varieties are marching into the Store. So far we have: Delicata (elongated freckled), Butternut, Green Acorn, Butter Cup, Carnival Squash (looks like Acorn but is freckled), Spaghetti and Pie Pumpkin. The Sweet Dumplings are coming in shortly. Let the party begin.....

• LOCAL Basil - LAST CALL! Needs to be pre-ordered. $3.95 for a big, nice bunch, coming from Dianne's (Golden Acres) garden.

• LOCAL Sweet Corn - now 65 cents/cob! Plentiful and "OH so GOOD". Now is the time to eat it. LOCAL and right from the field!

• LOCAL Cauliflower from Pfenning's Farms is available in Cauli heads or by the pound. Why leave the small Baby size Caulies in the field? They taste just as good and are very cute.
  They are $2.25/lb. The "Cauli Babies" are between 1/2lb to 3/4lb in size.

• 3lb and LOOSE Yellow Onions and 3lb and LOOSE Red Onions - now from LOCAL growers.

• Prune Plums and Black Amber Plums from B.C. - `tis the season! Prune Plums are small, dense egg-shaped plums with purple skin and yellow flesh. The pit comes off the flesh very easily. These are the plums that are made into dried prunes. Great for baking or eating.
