FRUIT NEWS:
- The Apple of this week is the Gala 3lb bag, coming from B.C. Here are a few facts about the most popular apple in Canada:
- I don't want to put you in panic mode, but our local Peaches from Palatine Farm are slowly coming to an end. They are picking the last variety right now and we will have them available for 2-3 more weeks.
For now I suggest you 'eat your heart out' on local peaches. I eat 1 to 2 cut up peaches with skin on in my Kefir bowl every morning. Add some Chia seeds, Coconut flakes and a little maple sirup on top, and I am in my own morning cloud.
- We are getting local Nectarines this week.
VEGGIE NEWS:
- Last call for Corn. The cobs are a little smaller now and $1.00 each. Still super sweet and great to sink your teeth into. Don't forget to roll it in butter first.
- Local Cauliflower and Broccoli are hitting a peak harvest season right now. The price is incredibly low and the quality is super. They are coming from Pfenning's Farm.
- We have Ontario-grown 2lb Mini Potatoes in Yellow and Red available - $3.95 per bag.
MEAT NEWS:
- All Pork Hams (cured or fresh) are 30% off. Call the Store if you need help finding the right size. They range from 2.9lb to 4.7lb.
We are now letting you know more loudly about our Fresh Chickens! If you have roasted a whole Chicken before, I challenge you to roast one of our custom-grown organic Chickens. It will be the best Chicken you ever had. That I guarantee! We have many testimonials from our returning customers.
The chickens have been outside all summer, their fat has a yellow colour. These are true signs for outdoor chickens that ate bugs and flies and organic grains.

Last week, I was telling you about our Celery Juice experiment. Over all, Celery reduces acidity in the body. Lowering your acidity in your body allows for the body to start healing a multitude of issues, a big one being high blood pressure and eliminating excess of fluids from the body.
I have very positive comments to make.
- Celery Juice is known to improve rheumatic disease - my fingers and other joints are definitely moving smoother and faster.
- my digestion has improved
- my energy level has increased
I think Wolfgang can say similar comments about our 5+ mornings of 1 glass of Celery juice each. Wolfgang wants to keep going with the Celery practise.
I will definitely keep our juicer closer in the kitchen. Making a fresh glass of Carrot, Celery or mixed Juice is so quick and simple. And it avoids dis-ease and pharmaceutical products. If it makes me feel like a goddess, juicing is well worth the effort.
It's almost fall y'all! (in case you have not noticed).

Well yes, I was part of that too, meaning the Celery Juice experiment that Almut talks about. Very interesting! When it came to improved digestion, I was running to the bathroom about 10 minutes after the first dose on that first day (and I do mean RUNNING).
Got better after a few days. Seems like the body adjusted in some way. I can attest to the increased energy levels throughout the day and what one could call the "coffee without coffee" effect. I must admit, coffee is still better-tasting, although Celery Juice may be healthier. Then again, coffee is supposed to have those invaluable antioxidants... but that's a whole other can of worms.
