Store Notes from Almut:

FRUIT NEWS:

- Pears! Pears and more Pears. They are in season now. We have Red Bartlett ($1.15ea), Green Bartlett (special $0.75ea), and Packham ($1.00ea). Packham pears have a white, juicy and sweet flesh, with light yellow skin when ripe.

- Great-looking Tommy Mangoes still available for a good price - $2.55 each.

Veggie NEWS:

- Red Radishes, great-looking, loose, without tops. Sold by weight - $3.61/lb. They are healthy additions to salads, sandwiches and dipping platters.

- Broccoli dropped in price, now $3.75 each.

- Quebec Tomatoes are still looking incredible. 1/2lb size for $1.95 each.

MAPLE SYRUP!

- Fresh LOCAL Maple Syrup just came in. 1L Glass bottles for $24.00, 500ml for $14.25. Locally produced.

Exciting MEAT NEWS!

- The "Bacon Ban" is over. We have lots of Organic Bacon back in stock and future stock is secured.

We hooked up with a local certified organic pork producer (they were former suppliers to Field Gate Organics). We are now buying directly from them and know exactly what the pigs are eating for dinner and how the land and the barn looks. AND they grow all the food for their pigs on their own farm!

We are selling 3 types of Sausages - Farmers, Garlic and Honey-Garlic - and their excellent Bacon.

- At the same time,  ALL Field Gate Sausages are on Sale for $9.00 each until sold out.

PASTA SAUCE

Perfect Chef Pasta Sauce, 740ml size, Marinara, Italian Herb and Basil for $4.75 each. Made in Canada.

After that beautiful Easter Monday, we are in for some ups and downs, but it's gradually getting warmer and all the flowers are starting to come up - and the frogs are croaking.
