We are happy send out our LAST STORE NEWS and SPECIALS update for this year - for December 13 - 19, and actually for the whole week before Christmas. As you may know, the Store will be closed for Christmas and New Year's and will re-open on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018.
Also, there will be NO FOOD BOX DELIVERIES on December 26/27 and January 2/3 - back for regular deliveries on January 9/10, 2018.

Store Notes from Almut:
Bulk Sale of the week - Sale will remain until Dec. 23rd!
- Organic Black Figs; reg. $11.25/lb - now $9.60/lb (1 lb = 454g)
Figs are a nutrient-dense (high in potassium) choice for snacks or as an ingredient in baking or cooking recipes.
- All the dried Cranberries with their seasonal red colors are on SALE
- Organic Cranberries (sweetened with apple juice, sunflower oil); reg. 13.20/lb - now $11.25/lb
- Organic Cranberries from Springbrook Farm (sweetened with cane sugar, no oil); reg. $14.30 - now $12.15/lb.
An organic family-run cranberry farm, Springbrook Cranberry Inc. in N.S., is just as precious as the berries they produce. It’s a rare occurrence that an entire family decides to delve into farming for a livelihood, let alone one that decides to grow something as challenging and wonderful as certified organic cranberries.
We also have Fresh Cranberries, which will be of interest to anyone thinking of preparing a Holiday Turkey.
Here's a simple Cranberry Vinaigrette recipe from Springbrook Farm:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup raw cranberries
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil
2 tbsp fresh herbs - at this time Parsley - minced
Preparation:
Process 1/2 cup of raw cranberries with 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar until smooth. Whisk in 1/2 cup olive oil and 2 tablespoons minced fresh herbs such as parsley, oregano, chives or thyme.
Meat Sale of the week:
- Organic Chicken Legs, reg. $6.60/lb - $5.60/lb
Fenwood Farms has organically-raised chicken and it tastes the way chicken was meant to taste – down to earth delicious.
Produce 'Picks' of the week:
Organic Satsuma Mandarins. They peel easily, are enticingly juicy and sweet - and everybody loves them. Sold by weight but average $0.60 each.
Beautiful and big Green Leaf Lettuce came in today. $2.00/head.
So we are now smack into the holiday season, and Harmony Egg Nog is looking better all the time. Try it while it is still available. It truly is the best Egg Nog on the market, with all organic ingredients.
Stickling's Stollen, Spitzkuchen, Vanillla Cresents and other delectable Christmas bakings are going fast. Enjoy them while they last!
New on our website is the BARGAIN CORNER section. Besides our regular Store with all the Organic Food, we started a FOOD OUTLET in 2016. Every week we receive pallets of refrigerated and dry goods (some organic, some not) from Erb Transport in Baden, ON. The advantage is, it offers our customers a great bargain price and saves YOU, the customer, money, and for us it attracts more traffic into our Store. Outlet items rotate very quickly, especially the organic products. But we are listing some of the items on the website for our home delivery customers - although only a small selection. Please, take advantage of this section. If you want to know more about what is on the BARGAIN shelf, call us at the Store - 519-725-4282. We will take you on a tour over the phone.
Don`t forget, our Store will be closed from Dec. 24th to Jan. 2nd. We will re-open with regular hours on Wednesday Jan 3rd.
