Store Notes from Almut:

 

FRUIT NEWS:

 

- For your information: B.C. Apples are slowly winding down. Only Gala, Red Delicious and Ambrosias are left. Soon they will all be coming from South America. Apples are in their lowest season right now, and over the next 3 months moving even lower. The Berry season is looming, 6-7 weeks and those local Strawberries will call our name.

 

 

 

- ….in the meantime we received California 1lb organic Strawberries today. A little treat for this cold start into May.

 

 

- Navel and Valencia Oranges are showing all the quality of a perfect citrus fruit: "Juicy and sweet!" We are selling each for $1.25 or 3 for $3.00.

 

 

Veggie NEWS:

 

- Green Acorn Squash is the pick of the week. They are 1.5lb in size and $2.95 each. very nice quality too.

 

- The Romaine Lettuce is looking perky and deep green - $3.95 each.

 

- Sorry, no Broccoli available this week. We had quality and trucking issues. We are going to be back with it next week. 

 

 

- Quebec Tomatoes are still looking incredible. 1/2lb size for now $1.50 each.

 

 

 

Herb and Spice News!

 

- We have a new product called "Herb N Spice." The ingredients are as follows: Organic onion, organic garlic, organic roasted garlic, organic pepper, organic parsley, organic red peppers.

 

Who needs salt on the table when you can have this amazing seasoning? And it tastes very vivid!

 

 

 

Exciting MEAT NEWS!

 

- The "Bacon Ban" is over. We have lots of Organic Bacon back in stock and future stock is secured. Kacy and our house tried the Bacon and Sausages this weekend...…what a treat it was and will be from now on.

 

We hooked up with a local certified organic pork producer (they were former suppliers to Field Gate Organics). We are now buying directly from them and know exactly what the pigs are eating for dinner and how the land and the barn looks. AND they grow all the food for their pigs on their own farm!

We are selling 3 types of Sausages - Farmers, Garlic and Honey-Garlic - and their excellent Bacon.

 

 

 

- At the same time,  ALL Field Gate Sausages are STILL on Sale for $9.00 each until sold out.

Perfect Chef Pasta Sauce, 740ml size, Marinara, Italian Herb and Basil for $4.75 each - or 2 for $8.00. Made in Canada.

Yes, on the Farm they really started planting on Monday morning - and have been going strong whenever possible, literally working between the drops (check out this drone shot from the field). Growing season is officially opened!
