FRUIT NEWS:

 

This week we are featuring mostly Ontario Fruit!

 

FYI: The price on all the Palatine Fruit came down!

 

- LOCAL Peaches (free-stone) and White Nectarines are the highlights this week. Sweet and succulent.

 

- Local Blue Plums from Palatine Farm. They look a little like Prune Plums. Sweet and easy to pit. 16 plums will give you 1lb.

 

... and other Plum varieties are just starting.

 

 

- The first B.C. Apples arrived today. Sunrise Apples in 3lb size for $6.25/bag. Sunrise apples are best for snacking, but their crispness makes them great for baking.

 

 - Noteworthy are the BIG Valencia Oranges from South Africa. Yes, they are from far away, but they did not loose any sweetness or juice on their journey. This is truly a superior Orange and the size of a grapefruit. 

 

- Avocados are back in stock!

 

 

 

VEGGIE NEWS:

 

- LOCAL Pfenning's Carrots grown in New Hamburg are here. Coming in 2lb, 5lb bags and 15lb Juicing size.

 

- If you love Eggplant, this is the time to buy them. The price is right! They are available in abundance and shining brightly. You can almost see your face in them.

 

- Check out all the local Squash available.

- Sweet Corn will be available for a while. Steamed first, then rolled in butter with a pinch of salt, need one say more...

 

 

MEAT NEWS:

- Our next fresh "Chicken Run" will be on Sept. 25th. The sign-up list will be out shortly and as we come closer to the date we will remind you more frequently.

 

 

SOME STORE SPECIALS:

- We have an ongoing Sale until end of August on all Steaks - 30% off regular price.  T-Bone, Blade Steak, Rib Steak until September 1st, then the price will go back up to regular.

 

- New from 3Gen Farm: Organic Bacon Bits in 1lb packages for $9.95.

Wolfgang told me he saw a bumper sticker on his delivery tour saying: "If you ate today, kiss a farmer." Lots of truth in that. We should be seeing a lot of farmers running around with hickeys.
