FRUIT NEWS:
- Bartlett Pears from Argentina, in GREEN and RED are here to colour up the fruit display. We are selling them loose only.
- Nice looking green Avocados are available, buy 2 for $3.00, or 1 for $1.75 each.
- The ONGOING fruit deal of the week comes in a bag. An all-organic Dried Fruit Blend of Sweetened Dried Cranberries, Wild Blueberries & Tart Cherries. From Patience Fruit Company, Quebec, 196g for only $2.95 (dated June 19/19), regular $6.00/bag. Snack on it straight or with nuts or put on salads. Check the Bargain Corner for this product.
Veggie NEWS:
- Locally grown Beet Greens are here, $4.50/bunch. Great in salads, smoothies, steamed etc....
- Gorgeous Red Radishes bunches for $2.85/bch to garnish your salads or spice up the sandwich.
- Local Carrots are now officially done. When you see Pfenning's Carrots in other stores they are USA-grown and in Pfenning's bags. But we still have some LOCALLY-GROWN CARROTS! They are the 5lb Carrots bags for now $6.00. We are also selling Chantaney Carrots (the short & stumpy variety) from Golden Acres Farm.
CHEESE Lovers SPECIAL:
- L'Ancetre medium 325g Cheddar Cheese is on SALE this week for $9.95 each. Regular price is $11.30.
MAPLE SYRUP - LOCAL
- Anybody interested in NEW Maple Syrup in a pail (4L or 10L etc. - NO BOTTLES!)? The time is here! Bring your pail (clearly marked with your name and phone #) to the Store by Saturday April 6th - or send it along with Wolfgang if you are receiving deliveries. The price: $12 per liter.
HIRING - Looking for a rising star!

We are continuing to rethink our plastic bag procedure at the store. Many alternative progressive stores are doing the same. The question is: How can we reduce the plastic bag frenzy? How do we conquer the plastic island, the size of the state of Texas, swimming in the Pacific Ocean? It all starts with a small clear produce plastic bag on a roll and a conscious mind, willing to change an old habit.
So... starting May 1st, 2019, in the Store we will charge for the use of any new bags used in the bulk or produce department. The idea is for you to bring your own containers or bags. We will also sell Nylon Reusable Bags for your shopping.
