This is our STORE NEWS and SPECIALS update and FOOD BOX REMINDER for June 10 - 17.
 

It's been a few turbulent months since we last sent out our Store News and Specials update and our weekly Food Box reminder. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the unparalelled surge in Store customers and requests for home delivery and temporarily put our update and reminder on hold. ALL of us were taken on a big roller coaster ride of the new and unfamiliar ... in every aspect of our lives and work routines. To write a Store highlight was simply not possible due to us and our staff running out of time at the end of the day.

We are now back with a combined Newsletter for both Store News and Specials and a Food Box/Home Delivery reminder - which we will send out whenever possible.

 

 

Dear Food Box customers: If you wish not to receive the Store News and Specials, you can always unsubscribe. However, you may want to be sure to stay subscribed to our monthly Home Delivery Newsletter with information relevant to your deliveries, especially upcoming NO DELIVERY DATES.

 

 

In any case, we are happy to be back with our updates and are thankful to see you as a part of the Pfenning's Community.

STORE NOTES from Almut:

 

 

 

FRESH CHICKENS are coming!

 

We have 2 dates: June 24th and July 8th.

If you are interested, call the Store at 519-725-4282 to get your name on the Chicken List.

These birds are raised outside on grass with sunshine and bugs and on an organic grain ration.

They are arriving FRESH at the store for $5.50/lb or $5.75/lb if we freeze them for you. Food Box customers can have their Chickens delivered frozen.

 

 

A Word on Availability!

In the last 2 months we had great difficulties procuring products for our Store. The warehouses of our wholesalers practically emptied themselves overnight and new products, especially from the USA or oversees, simply stopped coming in. Slowly, a more reliable delivery schedule of goods is setting in. We thank you for your patience while waiting for 'out-of-stock' products to be available again.

 

- Our Bulk Dishwasher Tabs (10 for $3.00) are back in stock!

 

- Frozen 1.5kg bags of organic Blueberries, Berry Mix and Mango from Bremmer's are back in stock!
 

 

 

PRODUCE HIGHLIGHTS

 

Local field-grown produce is rapidly coming into season ('bout time):

- Spinach bunches from Pfenning's Farm

- Red, Green and Black Kale from Hope produce southwest of Woodstock
 

- Roma Tomatoes and English Cucumbers from Leamington

- Red and Green Leaf Lettuce from the Woodstock area

FRUIT NEWS:

 

If you need relief from the heat and a treat, dig into an Organic Watermelon from USA - $8.00/ea. We have a whole bin sitting in the Store.

Try this in your blender: Watermelon pieces and juice of Fresh Limes (2 for $1.00). Blend until smooth - enjoy!

Nectarines, Strawberries, Blueberries and Apricots - we have them all.
