Hello from Pfenning’s Organic,

We are happy to send you our Basket Contents update for the February 27/28 delivery.

Please, also remember that our Order Deadline is Saturday at noon!

You may also prefer to shop directly from our Online Catalogue.

Here are the Store Notes from Almut:

Bulk Sale of the week:

Dark Chocolate Raisins  reg. $12.05/lb  -  Sale $10.25/lb
- Milk Chocolate Raisins reg. 11.97/lb  -  Sale $10.15/lb

These Chocolate Raisins are a sugary treat, but our ingredients are somewhat cleaner than what you would normally find in other stores.

Meat Sale of the week:

- Ontario 'farmed' Rainbow Trout, reg. $13.95/lb  -  SALE $11.95/lb

Produce 'Picks' of the week:

  • Two types of gorgeous Mangoes came in today:

Atulfo Mango and Kent Mango. Both are $1.95 each and look very good.

  • 3lb Ambrosia Apples from B.C. are now 5.95/bag. Ambrosia Apples are wonderful eating Apples. The name says it all.

  • Blueberries and Blackberries are back in stock. $4.50 for 170g clam shells. Blueberries and Blackberries have powerful antioxidant properties that provide the body with essential vitamins and minerals needed for optimum function. They make the world's healthiest snack (in my opinion).

  • Broccoli price is now down to $2.25/bunch and the bunches are very big.

  • Our first imported Garlic came in today. Goodbye local Garlic until we meet again in August of 2018. Imported Garlic is $1.00/bulb and not too shabby looking and very firm to the touch.

  • Our local Squash season also came to an undeniable end. Imported Butternut and Kabocha Squash now available. Some local Butternut is still in stock for this week only.

UPDATE: All our Carrots, 2lb, 5lb and 25lb Juice Carrots, are still from LOCAL sources. I think that makes us the LOCAL headquarter of Waterloo County for produce. Check out all the other LOCAL produce still available. We support and sell LOCAL produce foremost to imported produce. Only when local becomes unavailable do we switch to imported produce.

I am going home now to my last LOCAL creamed Squash Soup of the season. It also includes: local Potatoes, local Rutabagas, local Root Parsley, local Carrots, local Whipping Cream and local Butter. The fresh Ginger and fresh Tumeric Root are imported.

Bon Appetit,

Almut
