FRUIT NEWS:

 

 

- 3 lbs Ambrosia Apples - the only B.C. Apple left! All other varieties are from USA: Fuji, Gala and Pink Lady.

 

- Organic Cantaloupe is now $3.75 each. Super quality!!!

 

- We are selling the Kiwis from Italy at 3 for $1.50 - or $0.60 each.

 

- You can eat a Kiwi just like a 'soft-boiled egg' right from your hand. Cut it in half and spoon it out of its shell.

 

 

Veggie NEWS:

 

Due to the cooler spring weather, the locally-grown vegetables are taking their sweet time.

 

Please be patient, it will come. The Pfenning's Farm has planted lots of Leafy Greens. Now they are just sitting patiently in the cold soil waiting for warmer  weather. 

 

- A first in our entire vegetable carreer - there is no organic Broccoli available from both of our wholesalers!

 

- Cauliflower is available for $6.75 head.

 

- Local Asparagus bunches have finally jumped onto our produce shelves. They are coming from Chatham, ON - $7.95/lb.

 

- Fresh Dill Bunches are still available (not local just yet). So deliciously fragrant! Try egg salad with fresh dill, or potato salad with fresh dill. So many options...…!

 

 

 

 

 

Chicken News:

 

 

- On June 26th we will receive our first fresh WHOLE CHICKENS for the year. They are $5.25/lb and come from our usual farmer not far from here. They are raised like a chicken should be raised: lots of space to roam, green grass to pick and sunshine on their back.

 

Call the Store - 519-725-4282 - if you are not yet on the CHICKEN LIST. Pre-order is a must!

- 1kg organic Chicken Wings for $10.00/bag (dated May 27th)

- 1kg organic boneless Chicken Breast (extra lean) for $25.00 (dated June 27th)

 

 

 

We had a cheerful Victoria Weekend get-together with family and friends around a campfire, but it was still on the cool side. Spring is really dragging on this year. Good news is that the farmers have been able to catch up on their field work as the rain has been holding off a bit.
