Here are Almut's STORE NEWS and SPECIALS:
In my last 20+ years as a 'storekeeper' I have never experienced anything like last week (and ongoing). I think that "whoa" experience goes for everybody out there as well.
A little word of advice, if I may: Try not to be sucked into the fear modus. Watch the storm from the centre of the eye where it is calm. Watch the happenings out there like a light show, but keep a certain 'inner' distance to it. You may even imagine sitting in a comfy lawn chair and pretending to watch the July fireworks. But do not emotionally participate! (Maybe minimise the TV, social media and other electronic gadgets) If you do, the negative emotions will collapse your immune system, will tense up your muscles, and you will forget to be happy, and you will become acidic.
All those symptoms will cause dis-ease!
Believe in your healthy immune system and nourish it throughout these days with healthy home-cooked foods, supplements and super foods. Pull out your juicer if you have to. Smile, be kind and optimistic to your fellow humans being around. Do anything (mentally or physically) so you stay in your centre of stillness!
And know this - The local farmers are not shutting down. There will be enough food for everybody in the future.
BONE BROTH SALE!
At this crucial time, we are offering Stock-Exchange Bone Broth by the case - for $60.00 each (6 x 500ml per case). Individually, each unit is $13.95 ($83.70/case).

FRUIT NEWS:
- Gala 3lb Apples are the only 3lb bags available this week.
- Super sweet and juicy Clementines from Spain arrived today. The sizes vary from $1.00 to $2.00 each.
VEGGIE NEWS:
- More green, crisp and big Romaine Lettuce heads just arrived today - $3.00 each.
- Brussel Sprouts are still well-priced and 'green' in colour for $6.34/lb.
I steam them, cut into halves, until soft, but still bright green. Then I lightly roast them in the frying pan mixed with onions. Serve on Rice or Potatoes. It's so delicious!!
- Our 2lb and 5lb Carrots are now all from USA. If you like LOCAL Carrots with an amazing taste, you might like the Chantenay Carrots from Golden Acres, or buy the 25lb LOCAL Juicing Carrots from Pfenning's Farm.
- Gorgeous Snap Peas with a super price arrived today - $7.70 for a pound.
- Well-priced and crisp-looking is the Green Peppermint Chard from USA - $2.25 bunch.
- Sorry, no Tomatoes available as of yet. We will keep trying for our weekend pickup.

Thank you to everyone who is showing up with glass containers at the Store for your Spices, Herbs and other Bulk items. We love it!!!!!!!!
Food Box customers, we can do the same for you. Give Wolfgang your empty jars, let us know what you want to have it filled with, VOILA...it will come back to your house one week later - filled with the Spices and Herbs of your dreams!

It can be done, and we will help you transform your habit into a more plastic-free life. We do have free glass jars available in case you forget your own containers.
Food Box Customers!
We can put your bulk dry goods into clean Pinehedge (1L size) jars if you want no plastic bags. Just pay $1.00 for the jar which you get back upon return of the empty jar. Please DO let us know if you want the plastic-free option.

- With spring just around the corner comes our Organic Seed rack. If you need any Organic Seeds to start your tomato or pepper transplants on the window sill, check out the varieties we have available. You will find it under the 'HOME' section in the website.
MEAT NEWS!
- A fresh order of Fish (Rainbow Trout, Organic Salmon, Ocean Perch and Haddock) arrived this week.
Also Hack Farm (Kincardine, ON) brought us Beef Patties fresh from the butcher. Sold frozen and come in 6 and 4 packs.
FYI: Here at the Pfenning's Store it is business as usual! Everything remains the same! Store hours, delivery schedule etc. We are OPEN.
