Starting next week, Tuesday Sept 25th until Saturday Sept 29th, Pfenning's Organic & More is celebrating 20 Years of serving the Organic Community - YOU Health Nuts out there - from our Store in St. Agatha.
We started humble for a few years (since 1993) on the Pfenning's Farm in New Hamburg as a "rustic" Farm Store, only open 2 days/week. The word spread about organic food, and we grew into a bigger store in the small town of Baden, ON in 1995. After 3 years, and more awareness on healthy eating, we moved in 1998 to our present location in St. Agatha.
From this location we have been serving our customers who wanted local, organic and unadulterated food. I am proud to say, we truly were one of the first stores in KW area with such a passionate agenda of putting primarily "real food" on the store shelves. Supplements are not our main priority, real food is! From that comes our Store Motto: "Let food be your medicine, and medicine be your food," as Hippocrates, the greatest physician of the antiquity once said.
Supplements is where health food stores make their money. Food is just a side line to them. Not so with us.
Over the years, since 1998, the health food industry has swung a pendulum from "supplements are all you need" to "YES, there is a very great value in eating organic vegetables/fruits." A pill bottle does not give you what a truly fresh bunch of green kale can give you. We always knew that since the beginning.
That is what we are here for - to serve you to best of our long-time ability to achieve your very best personal health and well-being.

Produce NEWS:
- We received our last order of LOCAL Peaches this week. We will have stock for about 2 weeks.
- Beautiful LOCAL Eggplants arrived today.
- LOCAL Red and Green Pepper season is in full swing, $1.25 each. I made the best Red Pepper Tapenade yesterday. 2 Red Peppers, 1 cup Cashews/Hempseeds, 1/2 cup Olive or Hemp oil, 1 Tablespoon Bragg/Tamari seasoning, 3 cloves of Garlic, juice of 1 Lemon. Blend all ingredients in the blender until creamy. Use as dips, wraps, as mayo, on eggs etc.
- LOCAL Shallots are available now. They are a mix between Garlic and an Onion.
- 3lb bags of organic Macintosh Apples from B.C. have arrived. They are crispy and juicy. Just like a real Mac has to be.
- For those people who love the Delicata Squash, they are back in stock.
- and last the 'shiner' of the week are the beautiful Green Onion bunches from Pfenning's Farm. They started a 'new field' and they look as pretty as they do in the spring time. Don't forget, we are in the latter half of September and the cornucopia will end with a bang not too far in the future.
