Store Notes from Almut:

Bulk Sale of the week - same as last week:

Coco Camino 56% Chocolate Dollops and 56% Chocolate Chips are on Sale. Both are fair-trade, dairy-free and certified organic.

- 56% Dollops are big-sized chips (the size of a nickel), regular $17.77/lb - 30% off - now $12.50/lb. Great for baking or snacking (no tax on this item).

- 56% Chocolate Chips regular $17.77/lb  -  15% off - now $15.10/lb. 
Ingredients: organic raw cane sugar, organic cocoa liquor, organic cocoa butter. Dairy-Free and Vegan.

Meat Sale of the week - mostly the same as last week:

Organic Beef Dogs from Beretta Farm, 6 dogs/ package for $9.95. 
- Gluten-Free - No Nitrates added - made with organic Canadian Beef.

Mclean Turkey Breakfast Strips, 250g for $6.00/ package. No preservatives and the Turkeys raised without the use of antibiotics.
This is an OUTLET product, but very worthy of mentioning to our Food Box and regular customers. 

Some Fishy News: newly arrived wild-caught Haddock and Lake-grown Tilapia are in stock. Also White Fish from Georgian Bay is back in stock. 

Produce 'Picks' of the week:

• Organic Green Packham Pears. A specialty pear, native to Australia that has a less symmetrical pear shape, but a somewhat larger size at its base than other pears. The Packham Pear generally has a short, stout shape with an irregular or bumpy surface. The outer pale yellow skin covers a white juicy flesh that is very sweet in flavour. The texture of the flesh on a Packham Pear is firm, but softens as it ripens. It is a variety that is a cross between a Bartlett and an Yvedale Saint-Germain Pear.​

• Blackberries (from Mexico) arrived again with today's produce order. Very nice quality, $4.95 each.

• We are still selling only Locally-grown Carrots and are very proud of it. 
   

• We still have beautiful organic Acorn Squash from USA, $2.95 each. 

• Local 5lb and 3lb Russet, Red and Yellow Potatoes are still on an UNBELIEVABLE SALE. The Pfenning's Farm needs to clear out their potato storage.Take advantage of this great sale to make French Fries - or whatever else may touch your fancy.

• Our Red Beet Bunches are again very beautiful this week. 3 to a bunch with nice greens on top. $3.25/bunch.

• Hot House Tomatoes from Mexico for $1.00 each. Nice quality.

• Check out the 1lb Mini Mixed Peppers. A variety of Red, Orange and Yellow Peppers for $4.25 bag. ​
