Bulk Sale of the week (same as last week):

- Organic Red Rice reg. $4.97/lb  -  now $3.95/lb

Red rice is a special variety of rice that is red in colour because it contains anthocyanins. It is generally unhulled or partially hulled rice which has a red husk, rather than the much more common brown rice. Red rice has a nutty flavor, and a high nutritional value, as the germ of the rice is left intact.

- Organic Lundberg Sushi Rice reg. 4.06/lb  -  now $3.45/lb

With just the right amount of stickiness and natural sweetness, this rice is perfect for California style rolls. Also suitable for rice salads and other Asian dishes. In our house an absolute favourite!!!

Meat Sale of the week (same as last week):

- 'Field Gate' LOCAL Bacon reg. $12.75/lb  -  now $10.85/lb

Produce 'Picks' of the week:

• B.C grown Empire Apples in 3lb bags are still the highlight of the week. $6.95 each.

• Snap and Snow Peas are available this week. They are a major ingredient in a good stir-fry.

• Add some LOCAL Red Peppers, LOCAL Portobello Mushrooms, LOCAL Carrots (Chantenay), Broccoli ($3.75/bunch) and Green Cabbage from Quebec. Now that is starting to be a great meal, but add a few more ingredients and it becomes fantastic - maybe a Salad or some Potatoes?

• The Romaine Lettuce ($2.95each) which arrived today is very heavy and beautiful quality. You will get a few salads out of this head.

• LOCAL 5lb Red Potatoes are on a great SALE, for $3.25/bag. regular $5.75/bag.

• LOCAL English Cucumbers from the Leamington area are $3.25 each now!

Many great items in our "Erb Outlet" pallet came in today. Too many to list them all. If you are interested, come by the Store to take a look. These items move in and out of the Store too fast to make it onto the Bargain Section of our website. Therefore, we only list them if we have a good quantity on hand.

To all of you, enjoy the cold weather. Balmy summer temperatures in the 30s will be upon us soon enough... and we'll be complaining all over again,
